Raphine and South River Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the 202 North bound in Rockbridge county for a fully involved tractor trailer fire. When crews arrived on scene there was heavy fire and smoke showing from the tractor. Crews worked quickly to extinguish the fire keeping the fire from spreading into the two trailers of miscellaneous cargo that was being hauled.
Raphine Volunteer Fire Company responded with Augusta County and Riverheads Fire departments to the NB 207 mm for a Motor Vehicle accident reported with a haz-mat situation and entrapment. The crews freed one person from the wreckage and another was taken to Augusta Health. The haz-mat was paint that was spilled by one of the vehicles involved in the accident.
Raphine, South River and Walkers Creek fire Departments were dispatched to a structure fire with flames and smoke showing on Thurs around 7:45 p.m. when we arrived on scene there was smoke showing from the second floor of the residence. Crews worked quickly to extinguish the fire and ventilate the structure. The fire was marked under control at around 8:15 p.m. the fire was contained to one upstairs bedroom but the second floor sub stained substantial heat and smoke damage. ...
E127 responded along with Riverheads Fire Department to a tractor-trailer wreck on I81 at the 209 south bound mile marker. Riverheads Fire Dept. arrived on scene first and advised that there was a single tractor-trailer on its side on the left shoulder. We arrived on scene and assisted with traffic control. E127 & R122 responded to a tractor-trailer wreck on Oakland Circle near the Wilco Hess Travel Plaza. A truck leaving the Wilco apparently continued to travel straight across the road and through a neighboring business' yard and ended up crashing into a small patch of woods behind the building. No injuries to the driver were reported and no damage was done to the business' property.
E127 responded for a multiple MVC at the I81 NB 203 mile marker. We arrived on scene to find three vehicles involved, one with significant damage and two with minor damage. There were no patient injuries from any of the vehicles involved. The Engine Company assessed and controlled a small fluid leak with stay-dri. Once VA State Police arrived on location, the situation was turned over to them and E127 returned to service.
E127 & R122 responded along with E31 & E252 for a report of a vehicle that had ran into a structure. When we arrived on scene, we found that a car had struck the rear deck of the residence causing it to collapse on one corner. There was no structural damage to the home and no injuries were reported.
E127 & R122 responded to an MVC on I81 SB at the 204 mm involving a motor coach towing a car. No injuries were reported and only a small amount of fluid was leaking. It ran off the left shoulder and went thru a guardrail finally coming to rest in the medium. Rescue 17 and Rockbridge EM1 also assisted with the incident.
